About Cobb’s Crossing Hunting Club

Our Heritage

Cobb’s Crossing Hunting Club has been a cornerstone of the York hunting community Since 1934. Nestled in the heart of Sumter County’s renowned Black Belt region, our club embodies the rich hunting heritage and traditions that have defined this area for generations.

Our 4,885 acre property is conveniently located just north of the I-59/20 South exit for York, Alabama, providing members with exceptional access to some of the finest hunting grounds in west-central Alabama. The Black Belt’s distinctive limestone-rich soil supports diverse wildlife populations and has established this region as a premier destination for ethical, conservation-minded hunters.

Our Mission

Cobb’s Crossing Hunting Club was established with a clear purpose: the conservation of wild animal life and bringing huntsmen together in a spirit of camaraderie and stewardship. For more than 15 years, we have been dedicated practitioners of Quality Deer Management, ensuring healthy wildlife populations for future generations while maintaining the balance of our ecosystem.

The Black Belt Hunting Tradition

York and the surrounding Sumter County region hold a special place in Alabama’s hunting culture. The Black Belt’s hunting traditions extend back through generations, creating a legacy that connects families and communities through shared outdoor experiences.

At Cobb’s Crossing, we are proud to carry forward these time-honored practices while adapting modern conservation principles that ensure these traditions endure for our children and grandchildren.
